The first GOLD medal was won by China’s Chen Xiexia in the women’s 48kg weightlifting title. She snatched 95kg and jerked 117kg for a winning total of 212kg, she made a new Olympic Record.

 8月9日，中國選手陳燮霞（中）、土耳其選手西貝爾·厄茲坎（左）與中華臺北選手陳葦綾在頒獎儀式上。當日，在北京奧運會女子48公斤級舉重比賽中，陳燮霞以212公斤的總成績獲得冠軍，西貝爾·厄茲坎以199公斤的總成績獲得亞軍，陳葦綾以196公斤的總成績名列第三。

All CHINESE people celebrated the torch relay back to the capital BEIJING!!! The above picture is the front of the Tiananmen.

Beijing National Stadium- “Bird Nest”

Today it’s the big day for the whole CHINESE!!! The Beijing Olympic Game opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Beijing Natinal Stadium (traditional Chinese: 北京國家體育場; simplified Chinese: 北京国家体育场) as known as “Bird Nest”. The “Bird Nest” is a stadium for this Olympic Game and completed in March 2008. This stadium will host the main track and field competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It is located east of the Beijing National Aquatics Centre.

The Beijing National Aquatics Center, (traditional Chinese: 北京國家游泳中心; simplified Chinese: 北京国家游泳中心), also known as the Water Cube  which is an aquatics center that was built alongside Beijing National Stadium in the Olympic Game 2008. The Water Cube will host the Swimming, Diving and Synchronized Swimming events during the Olympics.

 The atmosphere of the Olympic Game is getting higher and higher. We are READY for the Olympic Games!!!This evening, I will stay at home to watch the Opening Ceremony at 8 o’clock. ;-D

It’s so beautiful to see the firework out from the Bird Nest!!!

ALL the TV channels are showing the opening ceremony of the Olympic Game, I am really so exciting this evening!!! I can’t believe my eyes, it’s not a dream, Our country really make it!!! I am so proud to be a CHINESE!!! ;-D

Beijing Olympic 2008: Torch Relay in HONG KONG (2 MAY) May 3, 2008

    One World One Dream  

   同一個世界  同一個夢想

 

 The above picture is the torch used for the relay of Beijing Olympic 2008. Yesterday, the lighted torch  was delivered to Hong Kong from Vietnam. Today, almost every people wore red t-shirt to show they support this event and our country! There were tons of people celebrated this event, as i can see this scene on TV news! It’s amazing~I found that there were REALLY many people no need to work on that day lol~ haha.

 

There are 120 people selected for the torch relay.  Only 1/3 are local althetics and the rest are from political parties, or well known artists in HK. It is the first time using Dragon Boat for the relay!!!
