Let me introduce some infomations about Zhuhai and Macau.
Location and Background infomation:

Map of PRC from Wikipedia
Zhuhai (Chinese: 珠海; pinyin: Zhūhǎi; lit. “Pearl Sea”) is a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of Guangdong province in the People’s Republic of China. It located in the Pearl River Delta, Zhuhai borders Jiangmen to the northwest, Zhongshan to the north, and Macau to the south. Zhuhai was one of the original Special Economic Zones established in the 1980s.
Zhuhai focuses on 5 new high-tech and heavy industries including electronics, computer software, biotechnology and pharmacy, machinery and equipment as well as petrochemical industries.
Macau lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province in the north and facing the South China Sea in the east and south.
As most of the asian know that this territory has thriving industries such as textiles, electronics, toys and tourist industry. The most famous things are the world class casinos!!! I can see Casinos with hotels are at everywhere!!!! It’s incredible! Besides, there are also many stadiums, resorts and restaurants. Such a small place can have more than 10 Casinos there!!! Wow~ The nightview of those Casinos are so beautiful!
Macau History:
As all people know Macau was a Portuguese colony in the past. Did people know the very first settlers at there were the Fishermen from Fujian ( a place in China) and farmers from Guangdong? At that time, Macau was known as “Ou Mun”, or ‘trading gate”. Why it named “ trading gate”? It is because of its location at the mouth of the Pearl River downstream from Guangzhou (Canton). During ancient times, port city was part of the Silk Road with ships loading here with silk for Rome .
Even after China ceased to be a world trade center, Guangzhou prospered from sea borne business with the countries of Southeast Asia , so the local entrepreneurs welcomed the arrival of Portuguese merchant-explorers. In the early 1550s the Portuguese reached Ou Mun and adopted the name, which gradually changed into the name Macau .
Macau also became the perfect crossroad for the meeting of East and West cultures. Portugal ’s golden age in Asia faded as rivals like the Dutch and British took over their trade. However the Chinese chose to continue to do business through the Portuguese in Macau . So for over a century the British East India Company and others set up shop here in rented houses like the elegant Casa Garden . Following the Opium War in 1841, Hong Kong was established by Britain . Most of the foreign merchants left Macau . Nevertheless it has continued to enjoy a leisurely multicultural existence and make daily, practical use of its historical buildings, in the process becoming a favorite stopover for international travelers, writers and artists.
Government and Politics:
On December 20, 1999, Macau was handover back to China. The Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration and the Basic Law of Macau stipulate that Macau operates with a high degree of autonomy until at least 2049, 50 years after handover. Under the policy of ” one country, two systems”, the Central People’s Government is responsible for the territory’s defense and foreign affairs, while Macau maintains its own legal system, polic force, monetary system, customs and immigration policies, and delegates to international organisations and events. All the above are the same as Hong Kong, Hong Kong handover to China on July 1, 1997.
Macau and Hong Kong are the Special Administrative Regions (SAR). Both of these SARs are the part of People’s Republic of China now.
