While i was reading my post ‘The Starry sky’, I am thinking about this song and the “Moon River”. It’s so nice to hear these songs….i memorized many things which happened in the past..

Vincent ” Starry Starry Night” by Don McLean

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer’s day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

Chorus:
Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free

They would not listen they did not know how
Perhaps they’ll listen now

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent’s eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist’s loving hand

Chorus:
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you Vincent
This world was never meant for one as
beautiful as you

Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can’t forget
Like the strangers that you’ve met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They did not listen they’re not listening still
Perhaps they never will

Mr Geoff 拍攝的 Luna and the Evening Star。

After the busy and hectic working life…..I am really feeling exhausted and depressed. I almost have the same feeling everydays which made me feeling death. When I was on the way home from work this evening, I looked at the night sky with a half moon. One moment, I memorized some peaceful moments which happened in the evening few years ago..

I cannot believe my eyes,  I cannot believe my eyes that I can really see the real starry sky!!! Everywhere was dark with a bit dim light out from the surrounding houses, I can see the people at there were sitting outside the house and talked to the neighbors, they looked happy and relaxed. After passed through those houses, I reached an open area with a beach and a small stall (there were two lovely dogs, I saw them they were always together during day time and even at night lol). Everywhere was dark and silent. I sat on a stone bench and faced to the sea. I cannot see anything, i can only see the wave of white head and hear the sound of wave…

Something attracted my attention when i looked at the sky. Stars were almost covered the whole sky, it’s amazing moment to me, I never see this before since i was born!!!! Nature is really amazing and beautiful!!! I seemed i was in a dream when I was looking at them…I seemed got addicted on it, I just lied on the stone bench and looking at the beautiful sky….When I was looking at it, mind and soul were so calm, peaceful and relax…Everything which happened unhappily in real life was all swept away. I really enjoyed and cherished this moment, don’t know if i would have the same moment again, Would it be just a dream?

I really wish I would have this chance again, to get there, to repeat it again under the same sky..

Let me introduce some infomations about Zhuhai and Macau.

Location and Background infomation:

China administrative.gif

Map of PRC from Wikipedia

Zhuhai (Chinese: 珠海; pinyin: Zhūhǎi; lit. “Pearl Sea”) is a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of Guangdong province in the People’s Republic of China. It located in the Pearl River Delta, Zhuhai borders Jiangmen to the northwest, Zhongshan to the north, and Macau to the south. Zhuhai was one of the original Special Economic Zones established in the 1980s.

Zhuhai focuses on 5 new high-tech and heavy industries including electronics, computer software, biotechnology and pharmacy, machinery and equipment as well as petrochemical industries.

Macau lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province in the north and facing the South China Sea in the east and south.

As most of the asian know that this territory has thriving industries such as textiles, electronics, toys and tourist industry. The most famous things are the world class casinos!!! I can see Casinos with hotels are at everywhere!!!! It’s incredible! Besides, there are also many stadiums, resorts and restaurants. Such a small place can have more than 10 Casinos there!!! Wow~ The nightview of those Casinos are so beautiful!

Macau History:

As all people know Macau was a Portuguese colony in the past. Did people know the very first settlers at there were the Fishermen from Fujian ( a place in China) and farmers from Guangdong? At that time, Macau was known as “Ou Mun”, or ‘trading gate”. Why it named “ trading gate”? It is because of its location at the mouth of the Pearl River downstream from Guangzhou (Canton). During ancient times, port city was part of the Silk Road with ships loading here with silk for Rome .

Even after China ceased to be a world trade center, Guangzhou prospered from sea borne business with the countries of Southeast Asia , so the local entrepreneurs welcomed the arrival of Portuguese merchant-explorers. In the early 1550s the Portuguese reached Ou Mun and adopted the name, which gradually changed into the name Macau .

Macau also became the perfect crossroad for the meeting of East and West cultures. Portugal ’s golden age in Asia faded as rivals like the Dutch and British took over their trade. However the Chinese chose to continue to do business through the Portuguese in Macau . So for over a century the British East India Company and others set up shop here in rented houses like the elegant Casa Garden . Following the Opium War in 1841, Hong Kong was established by Britain . Most of the foreign merchants left Macau . Nevertheless it has continued to enjoy a leisurely multicultural existence and make daily, practical use of its historical buildings, in the process becoming a favorite stopover for international travelers, writers and artists.

Government and Politics:

On December 20, 1999, Macau was handover back to China. The Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration and the Basic Law of Macau stipulate that Macau operates with a high degree of autonomy until at least 2049, 50 years after handover. Under the policy of ” one country, two systems”, the Central People’s Government is responsible for the territory’s defense and foreign affairs, while Macau maintains its own legal system, polic force, monetary system, customs and immigration policies, and delegates to international organisations and events. All the above are the same as Hong Kong, Hong Kong handover to China on July 1, 1997.

Macau and Hong Kong are the Special Administrative Regions (SAR). Both of these SARs are the part of People’s Republic of China now.
